In December and January I wrote the final draft on a colaborative script, a Bond type double-cross action feature. As we speak it is in some agent / Reader's hands, but I have heard nothing recently. The waiting game ensues.
Currently I am working on a colab with a Producer / Director in Nepal, putting together a docu-dromedy about polyandrous marriages in Himalayan cultures. My university studies / degree is in cultural anthropology, so this is a fitting and exciting project. The challenge is getting information and images from the internet, and trying to stay as acurate as possible while making it attractive to an international audience (much along the lines of 'Gods must be crazy' and 'They once were worriors').
Once this is finished, I will re-visit one or two of 24 other scripts I have in the works, some only as loglines or synops, others in first or second draft stages, and all manners of (in)completeness in-between.
I still hope to finish the five-part mini-series in which Van Gogh plays a critical part sometime this year.
I started a script around this time last year. I completed the first draft around Oct 05 and completed a 2nd draft about a month ago. It's been in the hands of a small prodco for a couple of weeks and they love it. I just got an email today saying they want to produce it as their next project. They are talking about between $500k and $1M for the budget. They are setting up meetings next week for contracts. Should be interesting.
It's not really hush hush. It's more being superstitious. I feel as soon as I start telling the details to people the deal's gonna fall through. The script is called SONNY MUST FAIL and it's a horror about the devil. I'll give the name of the prodco next week after we've had our real meetings. Hopefully I didn't just jinx it...LOL ;-)
A producer contacted me. It was about a short i wrote six months ago for somebody who came up with the story. It was for a festival but it was too late. Now the producer wants to buy the rights from me and make the script a short for the same festival next year. I am just waiting till het has the money and other rights. And I will get paid.
What do I want to do tomorrow so what do I have to do today
I'm still waiting. I got an email a couple of days ago saying they are still analyzing the script. I'm a little worried 'cause we still haven't signed anything. But, they still seem to be excited about it. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm now in the editing stage of my short film. I bought a new iMac with a 24-inch cinema-screen and Final Cut to make a rough cut before handing it off to the editor for a professional polish. It looks like I'll be ready for an LA premiere by January. Any of you LA people want to show up, let me know and I'll give you more details as they transpire.
Just found out that the air date for my TV show has been pushed back to next summer. Check your local listings for "Rules of Deception" on MyNetwork TV. I'll let you all know when my specific episodes are on.
Plugging away on another spec script. (Alex, this is "Fresno" and I promise I'll get it done as soon as I can... We are heading into the holiday season, though.) I've gotten some interest in it as I've informally pitched it here and there. Now I just need to deliver the goods.
So let's here some updates. What's going on, guys? And Emily.
A friend of mine who is a producer read some of my shorts. Becuase of all of them cantians a scene in cafe he came up with the idea to make movie like Coffee and Sigarettes. A bunch of shorts all starting of developing in a cafe. wtwo scripts are ready two other are developing. We are aiming at six or eight shorts to be completed in 2007 ant to be distributed nationally.
What do I want to do tomorrow so what do I have to do today
besides that i have completed a script on my own about a man who has a week to kill someones else. If not he wil be killed. All planned assasins don't work out. Everything finally turns out right. I have to sell it it to someone but people read it and really liked it.
