Thanks guys. I finally got my first imdb.com listing. I feel like Steve Martin in the jerk. "The new phonebook's here!"

Hey Troy,
Congrats. Sounds like you're busy, busy. I know the feeling, just wish I was doing what you're doing. Keep us up to scratch on what's happening. Penelope. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Penelope, |

That is the best way to explain seeing your name in print for your work, I couldn't stop laughing when I read that. Vote 1. Edsas for Mod. |

I wish now I would've added the quote - "Things are gonna start happening to me now."
I just found out that "Unglued" is getting a jury screening at the USA Film Festival, which means that it's up for an award. Which is kind of surreal since the USA Festival is an Academy sanctioned festival, which means if it wins an award that it's eligible for Academy consideration. I know it's not Oscar worthy but it's still kind of freaky. "He hates these cans! Stay away from the cans!" |

Troy,
What format have you been screening your film in? |

DVD 16:9 It has never been transfered to film. But the one time I saw on the big screen I was surprised how good it looked. It was shot 24p which loses that terrible 60i video look.

That's awesome. And you've done two festivals, right? And they both used DVD projectors?
I also screened my film using a DVD at Laemmles Sunset 5. We shot using a Canon XL1 and the projectionist thought it looked like 16 mm blown up. |

We've actually done 3 festivals but the last one - The USA Film Festival - which is an Academy festival - which I just came back from 5 minutes ago - we were notified that we were selected to be screened for the Jury.
There were only 50 Jury screenings out of 2000 submissions. But the bad thing is since they only selected 7 films for awards (not ours BTW) we were not screened for a regular audience. They only publicly screened the winners. So that kind of sucks. But the winners were pretty impressive though. Most were shot on 35mm but all had huge crews with one exception - The winner of the Grand Jury Prize. It was a 2:30 short done by 3 people. It was called "Novacane Man" and it was just a song sung by hands. It was actually really cool and is now being sent to the Academy for consideration for best short film next year. |

Just made a trailer in one week for a contest. You had to recreate a scen poorly or write your own story based on a existing scene. We did a few scnenes. http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=MzwIZ_LZwq0
